Born
in 1976 in Poland he began to study the guitar in 1984.
After schooling at the Music Academy of Katowice under N. Palacz, he moved
abroad and completed his musical studies first at the Music Academy in
Basel under Oscar Ghiglia and then under Sonja Prunnbauer at the Hochschule
für Musik in Freiburg, where he still lives.
He also attended specialising courses with some of the greatest contemporary
guitarists: David Rassel, Roberto Aussel, Manuel Barrueco.
In 1996 he won the first prize at the International Guitar Contest of
Tychy (Poland) and since then he has always confirmed his qualities as
an interpreter and the high technical level he has reached by winning
at many international contests. He has won numerous awards: in 1997 the
first prize at the International Guitar Contest of Tredrez-Locquemeau
(France), in 1998 the first prize at the International Guitar Contest
of Vienna (Austria), in 1999 the first prize at the International Guitar
Contest of Lichtenstein, in 2000 the first prize at the International
Guitar Contest of Alcoy (Spain) and at the International Guitar Contest
of Gargnano (Italy).
In 2001 he reached the top by winning at the Forum Gitarre of Vienna (Austria),
at the International Guitar Contest of Sernancelhe (Portugal), and at
the International Contest for Classic Guitar Michele Pittaluga, Città
di Alessandria prize.
His concert career in prestigious concert halls, for instance, the "Concerthouse
Schubertsaal" of Vienna, the "Musikverein Brahmssaal" of
Vienna, the "Konzerthaus" of Freeburg and the "Stadt Casino"
of Basel, will be enriched by an Italian tour in 2001 and 2002 with 15
concerts, among which four are scheduled with the "Orchestra Filarmonica
di Torino". This tour has been offered as prize awarded at the contest
of Alessandria.
In 2002 he won the Scholarship for young guitarists from CEI (Central
European Initiative) member countries which allows him to attend courses
at the Accademia Chitarristica Francisco Tárrega of Pordenone.
