Born
in Mexico, Pablo Garibay started learning guitar in 1993 with professor
Iván Rísquez in Mexico City.
In 1995, he carried on his studies under the control of professor Juan
Carlos Laguna at the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM).
Recently, he stayed one more year in Germany to follow the lectures of
professor Thomas Müller-Pering in the " Hochschule für
Musik Franz Lizst " of Weimar.
He followed master classes with well known pedagogues and interpreters,
including David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Oscar Ghiglia, Pepe Romero,
Roberto Aussel, Gerard Abiton, and Sergio Assad.
In 2000, he got a grant from the FONCA, the Mexican institution which
supports young students.
In 2003, he received "Premio Nacional of Juventud 2002" from
the president of Mexico. Pablo Garibay played as a soloist in Mexico in
prestigious concert halls, accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of
Mexico City, conducted by JoAnn Falletta and by " Orquesta de las
Artes de Sinaloa " conducted by Gordon Cambell.
As professor and concert performer he took part in many festivals and
obtained the first, second and third prizes in prestigious international
competitions in Germany, Belgium, France, Mexico, Poland, and USA. With
a strong sensitivity, Pablo Garibay has a delicate and precise play, full
of its native Mexico colours.
