1st Prize

“The winning work, «Suite alla Sonatina in direzione meridionale »is written with brilliance and craftsmanship, bringing echoes and reminiscences of great modern works of the guitar from the Southern hemisphere, most prominently the Sonata by Ginastera , which it evokes without quoting.
Violin and guitar thus present a kind of “Omaggio” to this great tradition, with an attractive vitality……”

2nd Prize

“The second prize winning work, «Dialogue» also draws its inspiration from a previous masterpiece, n this case Benjamin Britten’s Nocturnal. Textures and rhythmic gestures from the Nocturnal are interwoven with an angular but flowing and, generally, introspective flute filigree, through which a “rubato” line surfaces amidst the apparent complexity of the score……”
